Pay Groups
are created based on
1.
We define separate Pay groups for
payroll & Absence in any organization.
a)
Payroll Elements and absence element are
different. Like
Payroll: - Earning, deduction, Taxes, One time Payroll etc.
Absence :- Absence Take, entitlement, Balance accumulator, adjustments formulas
etc.
b)
Payroll rules and absence rules are
different, Rounding rule, Prorate rule, and Accruals rules. Etc.
c)
Payroll processing different then
Absence likes
Payroll :- earnings, deductions, Compensation, Additional Pay, Tax calculations
etc.
Absence: - Balance accumulator, Absence entitlement, Calculation Formula triggers
etc.
2.
Employee has same Pay groups when they
share same payroll or absence characteristics.

Absence & payroll pay period is same
(monthly, weekly etc.)

Pay rate is same

Pay component like (Basic pay, Special
Pay, variable pay etc.)

Hourly employee will have different pay
group, as frequency of pay is different and their pay or absence need to be proceed & paid
on daily basis. Salaried employee has rules different the Hourly employee.

Companies will have difference Pay group
for different Country, some time for specific business Group they create
separate Pay Groups.
5.
Peoples at executive level will have
separate Pay group for security requirement.
6.
For contractual employee we can make a
separate Paygroup,If the contract is such a way that make absence & payroll
characterizer different fro then from local employee.
7.
Generally we have same playgroup for employee's
and contractors.
